Personality: Ari is probably the biggest brat that ever lived. She's incredibly prideful, and reckless. She gets a kick instigating fights. Most of the times her first impressions start off with snide comments and offensive gestures. She enjoys being in large groups of people, however. The monkey's also pretty stubborn, Ari hates being told what to do (reverse psychology works really well on her). If by some miracle you avoid that phase, or she's trying to get on someone's good side, Ari's a rather charasmatic lassie. She'd never admit it to anyone, but sincerely does look out her friends and she's very protective of them.

History
The Mattis family was always a proud, wealthy family building on its engineering skills. The next in line, Ian and his wife Erica took the reigns as an engineering manager and settled down in Lumiose and started their family in the busy city. Within a few years, the couple had their first child, Payton and 5 years after, their younger, Ariel. The family got along as families do, Payton was the much calmer, polite of the kids and Ari was much more outgoing, and an obvious troublemaker from the start. Her parents were quick to recognize this in her early childhood, but played it off as nothing more but a phase.

Time went on and it started to seem like maybe it wasn't a phase. If anything it was starting to worsen over time. Once Payton was old enough to watch Ari, Ian and Erica took longer business trips out of region. The kids would always call over their Uncle Kade whenever he was free but other than that they learned how to survive home alone fast. However, lots of times Payton had plans for much of the day out, leaving Ari alone. Being left to her own devices, Ari decided to make her own plans. Picking up a spray can from the school's workshop, she started up graffiti. Nothing very complex at first, then it grew from there. Of course, the Mattis parents found out and were mortified. No child of theirs was going to be a delinquent. They started to give her other, more 'constructive' outlets, music, self-defense classes. They were fun and all, but tagging things up was still a blast and the self-defense classes just made picking fights easier. After Payton left for college, things got a little more tense back home.

Air in the Mattis house was became more inconsistent in tension. There were days where things were fine between the three at home. As well as days where no one wanted to see anyone else's face for a myriad of reasons. The situation at home put a damper on the family until they reached a breaking point. After a large fight between Ian and Erica, they called for a mini family meeting with Ari. There they announced they were going to take time off from marriage, which is a shock to any kid whose had a decent at worst family relationship for most of their life. Even though they reassured and reassured, Ari had a sinking feeling she had something to do with the break off. During summer break, a brochure came in the mail at Dad's house, it was for a fancy school where young pokemon go to better themselves....St. Mortiel's. Ari was going to throw it away but, it was far away from Kalos. Maybe if she went there for a while it'd give her parents time to make up and everything would be ok again? With a possible resolution in mind, Ari waited for her dad to turn her over to mom and ambushed them with the brochure to the school. Seeing it as a good thing for their child as well, the Mattis's wrote up an application and sent it in, all of them hoping for something good out of this.
